I purchased the STX-01S to mount my Samsung CHG90, which weighs 24 lbs (without stand) and is less than 50" in size. I also purchased the 12" extension arm to go with this unit. The monitor, when mounted directly on the base pole, works fine. I was told that the extension arm would work and that it could support the weight. But it wasn’t happening. Moving the center of gravity for the monitor 12 inches laterally was too much for the base, even when clamped to the desk.

Answer:
As long as the monitor is less than 30 pounds and less than 50” in size, it will work with a STX-01S. Adding an extension arm changes the moment load. In other words the further away from the pole you go the less weight it can bear as the monitor “feels” heavier to the mount. For this product the mount and pole will not fail even at full capacity. With the 50” monitor at 30 pounds you may experience lean but the unit will not fail with any of the three extension arms shown as accessories on the page. In other words the monitor would feel heavier to the pole causing lean, but the lean would be within spec.

It is possible for the Office Master OM5 to have arms and a head rest added at a later date. Please see the kit for the head rest here. However, we typically do not advise that the arms be added at a later date as the end-user is responsible for assembling those, and it’s a rather difficult process and requires special tools (such as a strap wrench).

I'm considering the OM5 and would like some advice on size/height. I'm relatively small, 5'6" and 145lbs; my wife is 5'0" and also small. I'm assuming the standard OM5 is right for our size? Should we go with the 4" or 5" cylinder? The seat height for me is 17" and for my wife it is 16".

Here is the range of seat height for each cylinder: 5” cylinder – seat height 16” – 21”, 4” cylinder - seat height 14.5” – 18.5” We would recommend 5" cylinder for you and 4" cylinder for your wife. Also you might like the OM5-EX better for you as the back is taller and provides fuller support.

Answer:
This LCD and Laptop kit is compatible with Ergotron Workfit-T. However it's important to note that the Workfit-T can accomodate a weight capacity between 10-35 lbs. When adding the 97-933-062, it can accommodate a monitor up to 24" in screen size. Also the weight capacity of Workfit-T after adding this kit reduces from 35 lbs to 24.9 lbs. Please note that the monitor must also have a standard VESa pattern of either 100x100 mm or 75x75 mm.

Answer:
You have two options to add a keyboard tray to your Innovative 9110-8460 Wire Shelving Monitor Mount. The Innovative 8085 Left or Right Handed Keyboard Tray uses an entire arm while the Innovative 8209 Flip-Up Keyboard Tray will attach to the Wire Shelving Monitor Mount but also leaves open 75x75 and 100x100 mounting pattern holes to add a monitor. Keep in mind the Innovative 8209 Flip-Up Keyboard Tray adds 9 lbs so this number of 9 lbs would need to be deducted from the maximum weight capacity of whichever arm+extension configuration you chose.

Please note that the Ergotron Workfit-TLE is set to be discontinued in favor of the Ergotron 33-467-921 Workfit-TX which provides 20" of lift (vs 15" on the Workfit-TLE). This updated version also provides 3" of independent height adjustment of the tray in order to better position the keyboard in relation to the display.

I am looking for a desk no wider than 48 inches. With the legs (the base, that is, outside of each leg), how wide does that make this WorkFit-D desk? It has to fit in a tight spot, so I need to know the widest part, including the legs/base of the desk.

The Ergotron WorkFit-D 24-271-928 would be cutting it very close, since the worksurface is 47.6” wide. Please see the dimensional illustration, that shows the base of the desk being 42” wide. If you feel as though that will not work for you, I would suggest taking a look at our Workrite brand! You will see that on their sit-stand desks, you can choose the size of the worksurface.

I am comparing Winston-E Dual Monitor to the Kangaroo Elite Electric. Winston-E is quite a bit more expensive. What can you tell about the Winston that is superior? Also it does not have the support leg that keeps the whole workstation stable. Does Winston have a better system to not let the wobbling happen? One more question, can the monitors be adjusted separately from the tray so if they need to be in a different position from sitting to standing, can that happen?

Answer:
Your question is appropriate and we are happy to make the value proposition for the Winston-E Electric Dual Monitor Sit-Stand Workstation. While the Winston-E does not have the “stability” leg, its base plate weighs about 20 pounds and fully supports the column and work surface for stability. One can lean over the work surface without it tipping over even slightly. The Winston-E also has independent monitor movement and focal depth adjustment for each wing. The adjustment knob allows the user to move the wing that the monitor is attached to, up and down, with ease, independent of the work surface. Most importantly, please note that with the Kangaroo the user has to put that stability leg in each time they want to raise the work surface and take it out when they want to lower it which makes the process of going from sitting to standing longer and more difficult than with the Winston-E, which raises and lowers with the touch of a button. Your monitor is compatible with the Workrite Conform Heavy Duty Articulating Arm. However this C-clamp cannot be installed on a desk that is more than 1.75" thick. So unfortunately even though your monitor is compatible with the arm, the arm is not compatible with the work surface. Generally a grommet or a C-clamp will not go on a surface thicker than about 3".

This LX Wall Mount Keyboard Arm is sold with the hardware required to mount directly to sturdy vertical surfaces. Unfortunately it is not recommended to mount this arm on sheetrock. It needs to be mounted on a stud in order to be stable. If it is not mounted to a stud, the manufacturer's warranty might be voided.

I need to know how to measure for the correct seat depth. How does a chair have a depth range? Are you measuring from front of seat to lumbar support?

The seat pan itself (apart from the back) is used to measure the seat depth. Please measure from the front of the seat pan, to the back of the seat pan. The YSYM has a mesh back and does not have the inflation lumbar support that our other chairs are able to have, so the manufacturer cannot measure from the lumbar support on the YSYM chair.

The IU55 has a 10" cylinder as standard. It also offers the option of an 8" cylinder for an additional price. Unfortunately, none of the high chairs (including the IU55) with a cylinder higher than 6" offer forward tilting. This is due to liability in tilt ratios. As such, we do not know of any chairs like this that would offer this sort of capability (neither that we carry or from competitors). There is one and only one exception which is a "non-traditional" seat Neutral Posture AbChair TAsk Lab Healthcare Cleanroom Stool which does offer forward tilting and can be ordered with an 8" cylinder bringing the seat height range to 23-31".

But please note that this workstation installs at the back edge of the desk and not at the front edge, which leaves valuable desktop space in the front for writing materials and devices. If there is a pre-drilled hole in your desktop, please utilize the grommet mounting option.

You can certainly replace the LCD bracket on this WorkFit-A with a notebook tray and convert this unit to a sit-stand latop workstation. But if you want to add laptop display to an LCD and have a dual display workstation, please consider WorkFit-A Single HD. Then you can instal a WorkFit Conversion Kit to convert a single LCD workstation to a LCD, laptop workstation.
