I am interested in the Workfit A, single LD. Do I need extra hardware to add the Notebook Tray? Does the arm attach to the back of the desk via clamp or screws?

Answer:

You can certainly replace the LCD bracket on this WorkFit-A with a notebook tray and convert this unit to a sit-stand latop workstation. But if you want to add laptop display to an LCD and have a dual display workstation, please consider WorkFit-A Single HD. Then you can instal a WorkFit Conversion Kit to convert a single LCD workstation to a LCD, laptop workstation.

Question:

I'm interested in converting my dual monitor WorkFit-S to a monitor laptop combo. Why should I go for the 97-617 as opposed to the inexpensive laptop holder 50-193-200?

Answer:

The 97-617 ensures that both your monitor and laptop screen are level with each other since it has the ability to adjust monitor up and down. This kit will also sit further back and take up less space, unlike the laptop holder 50-193-200, which juts out of the footprint of the mount, it's mounted on.

Question:

I have a 27", a 24" and a 22" monitor. If I purchase the Winston Triple Monitor Sit-Stand Workstation, can I fit all three monitors side-by-side in landscape? And if not, what if I turned the 27" monitor portrait?

Answer:

This will fully depend on your specific monitors. In the most general terms, this will accommodate 3 monitors up to 24” wide (notice that this is the width rather than the diagonal as most monitors are usually measured – so it may very well accommodate the 27” monitor). The width is for the full width of the unit including bezel if any. So it will accommodate most displays up to 24” wide in landscape mode. Please let us know the exact model numbers of your monitors, so we can check for compatibility.

Question:

In the product description, it says "back depth adjustment" but this is not shown in the interactive diagram. Does this just mean you can adjust it only when you first assemble the chair? My husband and I are very different heights (5'2" and 6'2") so the back depth adjustment really comes in handy. Thanks!

Answer:

The BC41 does indeed come with a back depth adjustment, which is very similar to seat sliding mechanism. However the seat slider will extend the seat further so that there is more back depth but the back depth adjustment will just move the back rather than the seat. There is a knob, under the seat that controls the back depth and can be adjusted at any time and not just during the first assembly.

Do safety soft casters work on linoleum floor or just carpet? Are the higher priced fabrics any more durable? Or just more interesting visually?

Answer:

You can use Safety soft casters on Linoleum. The higher the price, higher the grade of fabric, like Vinyl or leather. So it's a personal preference.

The Ergotron 45-460-026 lockable tablet mount fits a tablet of your specifications. Your tablet is 14" long diagonally and this tablet mount supports up to 15". Please note that your tablet must be equal to or under 0.9" thick and weigh less than 5 lbs. Also keep in mind weight requirements of the mount you choose as many articulating arms have weight minimums and if the tbalet and mount (together) do not meet these minimums you may find the arm "rising" rather than staying at desired position.

Question:

The top of my desk is 19mm thick, and the specs say 20mm is the minimum. Can I get away with it as-is, or would I need to bolster the thickness with an appropriately-sized wood block on the underside of the desk in the location of the mount?

Answer:

The 45-360-026 Desk Mount Arm attaches to a desk of thickness from 20 mm (0.79") to 65 mm (2.5") with a desk clamp. The manufacturer of this product, Ergotron, had the following to say about this particular situation, "According to the picture the desk top is 19mm - the customer may want to double check to make sure, because we only warranty the 45-360-026 for a minimum of 20mm to a max of 65mm. It is their discretion to use this mount on her table, as it ALMOST meets the minimum requirement. That being said, we do not necessarily advise this as our engineers have tested these desk thickness specs, so that is why 20mm is our minimum requirement." So though a 19mm thick desk may work, the arm will not be covered under Ergotron's warranty.

Answer:

Yes, the Ergotron 33-351-200 Single HD WorkFit-S can be converted to a dual mount with 97-783 adapter. However please note that the single WorkFit-S comes in LD version (33-350-200) and HD version (33-351-200). They both look the same. The LD version, 33-350-200, however cannot be converted to a dual setup. The HD version, 33-351-200, can. So please make sure which model you have before looking into conversion.

What is the difference between Humanscale 91 and 91D? Do I get two mouse trays with the 91D option? Or, if I am looking to order a mouse tray for the left AND right side of the keyboard tray, do I need to order two 91s?

Answer:

If you want left and right mouse trays, you do not need to order two 91s. The 91D is a dual mouse platform with each platform 10" in diameter. The 91 is a single mouse platform which is 10" in diameter too.

Please describe lift mechanism of this product. Do you have to loosen/tighten a bolt, or does it just "float " up and down with minimal lift/pressure?

Answer:

Both the monitor and keyboard tray of Ergotron 45-247-026 move independent of each other with minimal lift/pressure. If you see the installation instruction PDF file, on page 14 (step 13), there is an "adjustment step." This is suggested if movements are too easy or too difficult or if the product does not stay in desired positions. But other than those times when you feel the need to adjust, you would not need to loosen or tighten a bolt to move the product up and down on a daily basis.

What is the total depth (including keyboard tray) of the WorkFit TL? I need to know how many inches the keyboard tray will hang off my 24"-deep desk.

Answer:

The footprint of the WorkFit-TL is 37.5" wide x 23" deep. The keyboard tray is 27.5" wide x 11" deep. As you can see in the product images, the keyboard tray and worksurface overlap so the keyboard tray would not be 11" away from the worksurface. After examining the model, we found that the keyboard tray protrudes only about 3.5-4" from the desk surface.

There is no way to lock the head rest (no mechanism or knob). But please note that it does not move manually unless adjusted.

Question:

How do I raise the height of the monitor? It looks like it should slide up and down on the support arm, but I can't find a lever that allows it to move, other than tilting up or down.

Answer:

Since the monitor is on a track-like system, it can be raised simply by gently grabbing the sides and lifting it up and down. It does not have any lever for movement.

Question:

What is the distance between the two slots on the handle? I already have a speaker bracket and want to attach the handle directly if possible, without the plate.

Answer:

The distance from centerline slot to slot is 10”. It has been advised to us by Ergotron that the handle mounts to the plate directly, and will need to do so. So unfortunately it cannot be mounted without the plate.

Question:

Can you please explain the difference between the Chief PDR2000 and the Chief PDRUS mounts? I currently have the TS525 and need one with a longer extension length for my Sony 65" TV (XBR65X930D). It will have a soundbar mounted below the TV, as well (the Leon Horizon HzUT or the Leon Horizon Hz44). I can't tell the difference between the PDR2000 and PDRUS models.

Answer:

The PDR2000 does not come with an interface bracket, while the PDRUB/PDRUS does. By interface bracket, I am referring to the bracket that attaches the mount to the monitor. Both these mounts have 37" horizontal extension as opposed to the 25" for the TS525 and they're both are also compatible with displays 42-71" in size.

With the Ergotron 45-384-026 clamped onto a desk, at its highest extension how many inches above the desk does it hold the monitor? I know that'll ultimately vary by monitor size but just trying to understand how many inches higher this provides at its peak. Also, just to confirm is it flexible enough so that at its lowest point it holds the monitor as low as the surface of the desk?

Answer:

At its highest extension, the LX HD Sit-Stand Mount Monitor arm is 26” above the desk from the center of the monitor. The post is 16”, so if you mount the arm at the top of the post, plus the 10” height adjustment (arm adjust 10” up and 10” down), you get the 26” at the highest at the center of the monitor. Yes, it is flexible enough it can go as low as hitting the bottom of the surface of the desk.

What is the maximum height above the mounting point that the monitor can reach?

Answer:

This Freedom Arm for iMac comes with an 8" pole on a desk clamp base. If you place the arm at the highest point on the pole and the arm is vertically adjusted to the highest position, the center of the pivot head (attaches to the back of the monitor towards the center) is 21" above the surface of the desk. Depending on the dimensions of your monitor, the top of the monitor will be a few inches further above 21".

Question:

I have been using this WorkFit-S for a couple of years now and so have my co-workers. I noticed that my monitors do not go as high as that of my co-workers despite being mounted on same height desks. Why? Is there some problem with my unit?

Answer:

Over time some of the lifts lose their range of motion just out of usage and wear and tear and may need to be re-calibrated. On your unit, please put your hand on top of the front column (front column slides up and down on the bigger back column) and push down hard with your weight to force the unit to slide down all the way (past the initial stopping point). This realigns the sliders in the unit and frees up the range of motion on the top and bottom end. This is absolutely normal and nothing to be concerned about.

We have an employee who has this model (single monitor), but now is getting two monitors. Can the dual monitor mounting kit be purchased to fit this model?

Answer:

Unfortunately single monitor unit cannot be converted to dual monitor unit due to weight reasons. The single unit is weight balanced for one monitor, adding two would cause the unit to not function.
