Answer:

You have a couple of options. This particular arm does not have an attachment for a keyboard tray but you can install a keyboard tray arm underneath this arm. Or you can purchase an all in one system.

To decide if it fits into the corner we currently have flanked by some low furniture: how high are the feet leading to the bottom x-shaped frame outside (floor above the frame) and inside (floor to bottom end frame) please? Are these height adjustable too? We have unfortunately a bit uneven floor here and some adjacent furniture bottom frame which we wonder if that fits either below or above it. How does the height adjustment work, is it pneumatic? Where does one adjust the height, is it reached easily from the front?

Answer:

In regards to the height adjustability, yes this table is height adjustable and has a range of 32” to 51.5”. The desk is non-electric and uses constant force technology ( pneumatic mechanism) to move the table up and down. There is a handle to the right hand side of the desk where you adjust the desk height by moving it up and down.

Do I need a particular type of desk for this workstation?

Answer:

You do not need a particular desk. However we recommend that you avoid granite or glass tops. It is preferable if the table top is of some sort of wood or manufactured wood.

Question:

Both monitors move in unison up and down the pole 14 inches. Is that correct?

Answer:

They do move in unison, but the pole is not supposed to be used for height adjustment after the arm is setup. The user sets the arm at the pole height and then leaves it there. They would need to remove it and place it at the height they want later.

I need the seat height around 17 or 18 inches. What cylinder height would I choose?

The shortest cylinder is L1 -3" cylinder and gives you 16-19" of seat height. The standard cylinder is L2 and is 4" and the seat height is between 18-22".

Yes, it will. The only other aspect that needs to be double checked is the "bezel thickness at the edge of the monitor," which cannot exceed 1 3/4".

I want to use this for a monitor but may also want to occasionally mount my laptop on this arm. Should I order the laptop option? And if I do will I still get the vesa mount for my monitor? Can I order the laptop tray later separately?

Yes, you can order the laptop tray separately. The vesa mount comes with the arm so you can either attach a monitor or the laptop tray on it.

I am wondering if there are vesa compliant mounts available for this. I am wanting to mount a 27" 2010 imac and a normal monitor to this arm, both would need vesa compliant mounts. If not, can you recommend an arm with vesa mounts that would support the weigh of an imac? Also, would it be possible to add an arm to this for a laptop platform?

I have the Ergotron 45-245-026 LX Dual Side-by-Side Arm. Is this pole threaded so that I could use it in place of the short black pole to bring the LX arms to standing height?

Unfortunately, the diameter of the poles are different in the DS100 and LX series. Ergotron does not make a taller pole to be used with the LX Dual Side by Side Arm.

Do both monitors need to be the same size/weight for the WorkFit-A Dual with Worksurface? I have a 24 inch Samsung monitor and a 17 inch Dell monitor. Would I be able to rotate the smaller monitor to portrait orientation and back again? How difficult would that be?

Answer:

Both monitors do not have to be the same screen size or weight. They do however need to be in between the combined weight capacity. For this unit, the monitors must weigh between 9-20lbs combined. To rotate the monitor from landscape to portrait mode, you would need to remove a set screw in the back of the monitor. So you cannot just tilt the monitor to change from landscape to portrait, you would have to remove the set screw every time you want to change the back and forth from landscape to portrait. This screw is easy to remove and is shown in the installation manual.

Does this monitor mount support 27" monitors in (landscape landscape landscape) orientation as well as in (portrait portrait portrait) orientation? If so, what clearance remains from the desktop to the bottom of the monitor, when in either orientation? (I ask because I have a center channel speaker that's ~7 inches tall, and would prefer to have the monitors sit above the speaker when in portrait or landscape mode.)

Answer:

This mount does support 27” monitors in landscape x3 or portrait x3 orientation. The height to the monitor bracket is 18.29” (middle of mounted monitor). If your monitors dimensions are 27” wide, there will be clearance of 4.79” below the monitors in portrait orientation.
