Answer:

The desk arrives unassembled in a flat box. The column and base pieces are in one box and the top desk piece is in another box. They are fairly flat boxes.

Question:

The animation for this product shows the mouse on left and right. My question is can the mouse pad be extended on both sides at the same time? I intend to use this for a personal office space and I have a "command pad" which sits to the left of my keyboard almost like a left-handed mouse.

Answer:

The mouse tray travels on the underside of the keyboard tray- it is either pulled out on the right or left, it cannot be pulled out on both sides at the same time.

I've been interested in Ergotech FDM-UNIV-VSDS Universal Tablet VersaStand since I bought the 8 inch tablet iPad Mini Retina and the 12 inch tablet Surface Pro 3. But its mount design makes me hesitate to buy it. Because I think Universal Case's design is thick not thin. So I have two questions. 1. What is Ergotech FDM-UNIV-VSDS Universal Tablet VesraStand's weight? 2. Do you have any plan to redesign Universal Case or to create the new Universal Case for the Surface Pro 3? If so, let me know when the redesigned Universal Case would be available.

Answer:

The Universal VersaStand's weight is 2 lbs and it is not a case, it has two ends that hold a tablet. We have an iPad Mini that we use on this stand and it works fine. Right now Ergotech does not have any Case/Holder for the Surface Pro 3. Stay tuned to our website for new products!

Unfortunately this item does not have an interchangeable pole.

Question:

Can this unit be used in a medical office without keyboard and mouse? More specifically, can it withstand some light data entry, or will we be putting the laptop at risk of falling out of the unit. Also, how secure is the laptop in this arm? In the video it looked as if the clips could easily "unclip" causing the laptop to fall. This would be detrimental to our workflow,and end up costing us a tremendous amount of money to have the laptop non-working, as it controls some pretty important instruments.

Answer:

The clips cannot be taken off so they cannot unclip unless somebody breaks them off. We use one of these in our office and never had an issue with movement of the laptop. So unless somebody runs into the arm or is being rough with the unit there should be no issue. It works great for data entry.

We do not recommend using arms with a glass desk as the glass could get damaged or crack over time. You could use the clamp option but would need to use it at your own discretion.

The Quick Release LCD Bracket is used if you are constantly in need of removing your monitor from the arm. It allows you to just pull a lever and the monitor will detach from the monitor arm.

Can this workstation be installed at the corner of a 90 degree L-shaped desk? Is the Floor Mat strong enough to roll the chair over it while sitting? Is it easy to roll the chair over the Floor Mat?

Answer:

You will want to keep in mind the keyboard tray is 27" wide. You will want to be able to clear that on the corners when moving to the sitting position. So if you are able to do that then this WorkFit will work. The floor mats are strong enough to have chairs roll over them. They have memory form like material that will form back to original shape once the chair is removed. The mat has slanted edges so that it is easy to roll over it.

Yes this keyboard has adjustable feet. It has 2 feet with only one adjustment in which the foot goes all the way back to raise the keyboard about an inch higher than what it is. Please keep in mind that raising the feet of the keyboard on a flat surface will cause positive tilt of the wrist which can cause pain and discomfort in the long run and serious damage like Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Please remember to keep your wrists straight (no bend) on a leveled surface with a negative tilt (tip of the fingers pont 10-15 degrees down towards the floor).

Answer:

The maximum weight for a mount to carry is determined by the Monitor Arm. Do you currently have an arm that can attach to the Workrite NVM-1-B Non-VESA Mount Bracket? Every arm has a weight capacity and if you subtract the weight of the bracket (5lbs) from that, you can determine the maximum possible weight of the monitor.
