I use an iMac and MacBook pro. Is there room to place the MacBook on the shelf in front of the iMac? I would connect the keyboard to whichever MAC I am using at the time. How deep is the upper shelf? Could not find specifications. Looks perfect, otherwise

The upper keyboard shelf is 14.4” deep and 22.6” wide. Please remember the maximum weight on the unit is 27.5lbs. You’ll need to make sure the weight of your iMac and MacBook Pro don’t exceed this amount.

The keyboard tray is 19.3" long and 11.2" deep. If you add the mouse tray, length increases to 28". So you need 28" of space to push the keyboard along with the mouse tray under the desk. The track to install the tray is 17.4" long so you need at least 17.4" depth under the surface of the desk to install it.

It appears that this WorkFit-B is not motor driven. There appears to be a handbrake. Release the handbrake and it moves. Is this correct? In that case, is it counter-balanced? What happens if you have a heavy load, say 88 lbs, and you release the brake? Thud?? Do you have models like this (base only) that are motor driven?

Answer:

Yes, this unit is not motor-driven and it does have a handbrake. Release the brake and it can be moved up and down. The unit moves with a coiled spring technology. When you release the brake with a full load (88lbs) the unit will maintain its position and can be moved up or down using your hand with very little effort. We do have models available with built-in motors and push button control. One of them is the WorkRite Sierra HX Rectangular Height Adjustable Table, which can be purchased base only.

So after taking into account the weight of the adapter, your TV must weigh less than 28.2 lbs to be compatible. Question:

I want to install a small TV (maybe 16") on top of a granite island. How does the wire management work? One hole on granite top is okay but I don't want to make 2 holes and want the wire to go down in a way that looks good.

Answer:

The extension behind the monitor has a trough built in where the cables can be tucked into the framing of the extension so the cables can be hidden. As the cables move down the arm towards the base, a Velcro is provided so that the cables can then be tied to the next extension which is directly off the base. This keeps the cables close to the arm. Once it gets to the base, and since it will be a grommet, the hole drilled must be wide enough to allow for the cables AND the pin from the base clamp which drops through the hole and is secured underneath. That threaded pin is 5/16” round so the grommet hole must accommodate both that plus the cables.
