Question:

I am interested in a setup similar to picture 8 of 11 with the EVO5501 laptop holder and the 9199 monitor arm. Could you tell me what wall mount is used in that picture? Are all the listed wall mounts compatible with this combination? In the picture there appear to be two long horizontal boards to which the wall mount is affixed. Are these included as part of the wall mount, or are these required for the mount to be securely attached to the wall?

Answer:

The mount in the image is the Innovative 8325 Heavy-Duty Large Wall Mount. All the wall mount options will allow you to mount an LCD arm to the wall. The two long horizontal boards are not included in the system, they were added to the wall to increase the structural support. In order to secure the arm to the wall you need to attached the wall mount directly into studs or other firm mounting surface. The unit does not come with wall mounting hardware (screws, bolts, etc..) you should be able to find this hardware at your local hardware store based on the type of wall material.

The upholstery back for complex backshells is a fabric covering (upholstery) on the backside of the back cushion. Standard chairs come with a “backshell” made of plastic. Selecting this option provides 360 degrees of fabric covering on the back cushion.

Your monitor will work with this unit. The weight capacity of this arm is less than 42 lbs and the mounting pattern is a standard 100mmx100mm.

Answer:

You do not have to pre-drill a hole. The Ergotron 45-245-026 comes with a C-clamp, which attaches to the table edge up to 2.6” thick.

Question:

I fractured 5 vertebra in my back and need to be able to lower the arms considerably as I have lost 3 inches in my height and all of that is between my shoulders and hips. If the arms are too high then my shoulders are raised to the point it is uncomfortable. How can I determine which arms will work best for me?

Here is a guide to determine the most suitable armrest for you.

ARMREST HEIGHT: Armrest height should allow the user to sit in variety of postures while supporting their forearms and/ or elbows in a manner that avoids lifting the shoulders(too high) or leaning to the side to reach the armrest(too low).The armrest height should allow accessibility to, and performance of tasks.

ARMREST LENGTH: The length of the armrest should allow the user to sit close enough to the work surface to perform their tasks while maintaining contact with the backrest.

INSIDE DISTANCE BETWEEM ARMREST: Armrest should allow the user to sit in a variety of postures while supporting their forearms in a manner that avoids lifting the shoulders and or excessive outward positioning of the elbows. Armrest should allow the user to enter and exit the chair easily. The hips should comfortably fit between the armrests or supports.

This arm will work with the new 27" iMac. We do not recommend mounting the unit upside down. The manufacturer recommends only mounting it vertically to a desk with a clamp base or grommet base.

It looks like the desk will work. For this base, the length of the top surface should be between 41"-72" and the width should be between 23.5"-30.5". The thickness should be between 0.80”-1.75.”

Will any configuration of this m/flex monitor arm support 3 x 30" Dell u3014 monitors? If so, does this provide enough arm length to rotate the left and right monitor back toward the center?

Answer:

Though the Dell u3014 has a 30" screen size, what is important in this scenario is the outside width of the monitor (including the frame), which is 27.15". For your specific requirement, the triple mount M/Flex will work if you buy two 12" straight links for the left and the right monitor. But please note that the middle monitor mounted with a ball joint will have no adjustability.

I want to use Product 24-383-026 with an antique desk. I need to know the size of the clamp and how deep it must go. Also, is there an external keyboard keeper accessory for this item that has a negative tilt?

This product comes with a desktop clamp that will clamp to a desk 0.78"-2.56" thick. The clamp needs about 3.5" of depth to attach securely. It also comes with a Grommet mount that allows you to mount through a hole drilled anywhere on the table. We have a number of keyboard trays and arms that provide negative tilt.
